Memories of Psylocke. Captain Elektra!

I remember sitting on the bus, waiting for it to pull out of the parking lot of my middle school and hearing the boys in the back suddenly burst out in a collective geyser of pubescent laughter. Being the bad-ass that I am, I strolled back there to interrogate the little turds and since I was a nerd and a tomboy, convinced them to show me what they were furtively cackling over and obscuring behind their Starter parkas.

The Vietnamese guy had drawn a really excellent rendering of a well-known comic image: Psylocke, wet and fabulous, rising up with ecstatic, feral energy out of a pond or river or some other body of water.

He drew her topless, of course, and this was the source of all the masculine giggling.

Comic babes have such an allure. They drive people crazy, and rightly so. Now, I'm not too familiar with Elektra, except knowing that the Jennifer Garner-starring movie was a dramatic as well as visual travesty, so when Twitterites suggested I do my Sisay for Don's Magic and Sundry as Elektra, I was glad to have an excuse to look up her art.

Wow! Hot hot hot is all I can say. I chose an amazing piece by Mike Deodato to use as my reference. I really need to get a new camera, but I was very pleased with the results, and hope someone out there will enjoy using her as their kick-ass Commander!

Does this katana make me look well-endowed? Hell yes!

Hope you guys like it. She'll be available at The Sundry on/around June 23rd. Also, Don is planning to offer another altered card coupon discount soon, good for June 24-26, so if you know any friends who might be interested in this Sisay, tell them to listen to Don on the next episode of the Eh Team, where he'll reveal the discount code for next weekend!

Phoenix - er, Dallas! - Rising

"Old guys rule." That's what I thought when I watched the Mavs trample the Heat last night. Aside from being afraid that Cuban was going to spontaneously combust if his team took it down, I felt nothing but joy as Dallas steadily demoralized the Heat, increasing their lead and being patient, like pros, through the 4th quarter. I haven't heard any news of Mark Cuban jumping off of anything or imploding today, so I'll assume he's on cloud 9 but hasn't yet succumbed to his insanity. Good for you, Mark.

Here's what I worked on last night after the Finals. It still needs touchups like the rest, but I'm happy with it so far (might try to soften her bustline up a bit, looks like I got carried away last night—I blame it on the sake). And I might feel a little sorry for Miami (certainly for any of my Florida friends who were cheering for the Heat)...but when you have young guns who just lay down and die like Wade and LaBron did...well, old guys rule!!! :)

Mr. Bartlett, Alters, and Unicorn Butt Lasers

TGIF, community! Busy with a few projects today so just thought I'd quickly share some photos from the past week's activity. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Mono B Infect FNM-Killer

So here's the deck that the hubby piloted to our first FNM 1st place last Friday. I can't take any credit for it, because he built it all himself, played on 2 hours sleep, and probably was motivated by my nagging all through the week. Okay so maybe I can take some credit after all, if the nagging helped. :) Anyhow, we got 5 free packs, a Sword of War and Peace (finally! since we hadn't opened one in either of our 2 NPH boxes), and a 36" X 48" oil painting of a persian kitty titled "Mr. Bartlett." Mr. Bartlett was the Mystery Grab Bag, and since it made such an awesome trophy Elliot turned down another player's offer to trade the painting for a Batterskull lol. I will post a picture of Mr. Bartlett along with Elliot's notes from the tourney later this week.

Poll Results + Vote on 4th Jean Grey Alter!

Most of you prefer soda pop or an energy drink to fuel your MTG sessions.

Conley Woods tied with Unicorn, Gargoyle, and Throwback Character for your choice for Next New Planeswalker. It is likely that all of Conley Woods' abilities would be related to Land Death.

Please help me decide on which Marvel Girl outfit to use in the artwork for my Brainstorm playset. I'm taking 4 Masques Brainstorms and transforming them into: 1) Marvel Girl, 2) Jean Grey, 3) Phoenix, 4) Dark Phoenix

I'm considering the Marvel Girl outfits below. The alternate idea is to do Black Queen instead of Marvel Girl. Please vote to the right! Thanks for your help. The finished playset will be available through Don's Magic and Sundry, of course.
